Research


D.A.V. College, Muzaffarnagar is known for its quality research output for which it has well equipped research laboratories and other related facillities. More than 275Ph. Ds have been produced by its faculty and nearly 45 Scholars are engaged in working for Ph.D. degree currently.

Various projects under UGC, CSIR, DST, U.P. State Council of Science and Technology have been conducted and continue to be conducted in different departments. To maintain the quality of research, Scholars enrolled in the College, are expected to publish at least one research paper before submitting Ph.D. thesis. The Faculty and the research Scholars of the College have so far published around 1550 research paper out of which 1000 have appeared in International Journals.

Cultural Activities


Cultural Activities play an important role in broadening the horizon of the students. The College had been a torch-bearer in the Cultural field as well and has hosted a number of programme of the Internationally acclaimed artists like Uma Sharma, Kiran Sehgal, Dagar Brothers, Ronu Majumdar, Udai Bhawalkar and many others. Many other activity of SPICMACAY are conducted in the college to inculate among its students the basic aims and objects of this movement.

NATIONAL CADET CORE (NCC)


For the development of discipline, Nationality and courageous instinct in the students in the supervision of an officer a N.C.C. unit of 55 cadets is working in the college. The selection of the candidates is done by concerned officers on the basis of eligibility. In addition to the regular parade, Annual Training Camps and many special camps are also organized. Candidates Who pass N.C.C. 'C' Certificate may appear in S.S.B. directly in the interview for selection in the Armed forces as Commissioned Officers. N.C.C. Cadets are given extra benefits at the time of recruitment in the jobs and admission in the higher classes. N.C.C. Cadets passed in first division are given scholarships too.



NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

N.S.S. evokes the feeling of esteem for service and labour in the students and ensures their participation in the development of Nation. In our college there are four units of N.S.S. each comprising at the most 100 students . The selection of the interested students is done by the concerned Programme-Officers on the basis of their qualifications and aptitude. During one calendar year 120 hours work is to be done and, for that, in addition to the annual camps, some special camps on holidays/vacations are organized. N.S.S. Certificates bear weightage while taking admissions to B.Ed., LL.B., and post-graduate classes.
The volunteers reach out to people at large and get the first hand experience of the living conditions of the underprivileged and contribute their mite in solutions of their problems



ROVER/RANGERS CREW/TEAM

In the college , there is a rover crew and rover team engaged in developing the feeling of team-work, capacity of planning management and their overall development. In each team 24 boys/girls are taken. The selection of the students is done by the concerned officer through a selection procedure and the students having scouts/guide at 10+2 level are essentially to be admitted. The Rovers/Rangers are given weightage in the admission to higher classes.

Other Activities

The College does not lag behind in the field of literature(Poetry/Essay Competitions) and Debates. In this area, the college is in fact, Cluttered with Medals and Trophies at different levels. A number of reputed writers and poets have their associations with the College.
